Pupil Personnel Services Credential

Prepare for a career advocating for and guiding K-12 students to high academic achievement and social development.

Program Details

  • You must have a master’s degree unless you’re earning a credential in conjunction with a Master of Arts in Education degree
  • If you have a master’s degree you’ll complete 13 California Commission on Teacher Credentialing-approved courses and 600 hours of fieldwork
  • If you have a master’s degree in a counseling-related field, you’ll complete 15- 27 units
  • Some courses may be waived if you’ve taken them in a regionally accredited master’s degree program
  • You must successfully complete the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) to enter the program
  • You don’t need a California teacher credential to enter
  • When you enroll you must apply for a Certificate of Clearance and have evidence of a negative TB test dated within the past two years
